Frequently asked questions

Is this legal advice or sustainability advice?

Neither. We structure the data you provide and show where it comes from. We do not know your business operations and do not assess them either. For your specific situation, consult an adviser or your accountant.

Do I have to fill out the entire questionnaire from my customer?

Probably not. Since March 2026, a company subject to reporting requirements cannot ask a supplier with one thousand employees or fewer for more sustainability information than is set out in the voluntary EU standard. If it asks for more anyway, it must state that you may refuse those questions. The capcheck shows you where you stand on each question.

What if you don't recognise a question?

Then it says "not sure", and not that you may refuse. We only mark what is demonstrably outside the standard. A wrongful refusal costs you a customer; we would rather not make that mistake.

Where do you get my figures from?

From documents you already have: your energy bill, your fuel receipts, a printout from your payroll administration. You upload them and confirm what we read from them. What we cannot extract from them, we ask you — and nothing more.

Will I get a mark of quality or certificate with this?

No, and you won't get one anywhere. There is no body that recognises these SME reports. What you get is a dated report based on the standard, drawn up from your own data, with a verification link. Anyone who promises anything else is promising something that does not exist.

Is the content written by AI?

The knowledge base texts are, based on the official sources, with a technical check afterwards and human approval before publication. That is also stated under each topic. Your own figures are not made up: they come from your documents and you confirm them yourself.

What does it cost and what is free?

The capcheck and the entire knowledge base are free and will remain so. You pay only when we build your file and answer your questionnaire.

How do I know the information is current?

Under each topic it says when it was last checked. We monitor the sources weekly; if a change affects your file, you will be notified as a subscriber.

In which languages is the site available?

Dutch and English. The standard applies throughout the EU, so the content is EU-wide; the emission factors and country-specific sections start with the Netherlands.

What do you do with my data?

Store as little as possible, and what we store you get back. Via Settings → Download all your data you can export everything we have from you as a ZIP file with one click. You can also delete it yourself. See the privacy statement for details.
